The Discord bot that started it all — nearly 1 million users, 1,000+ servers, and a journey I'll never forget
Discontinued — Nov 7, 2024Abner is where everything started. It wasn't planned to be anything big — it was just a Discord bot I decided to build in October 2022, initially using Bot Designer for Discord. But it quickly became something far beyond what I expected.
By January 2023, I had rewritten the entire thing in JavaScript using Discord.js — no tutorials, no courses, just a lot of trial, error, and learning by doing. Alongside me was Gabriel, a friend who knew way more than I did at the time, and who pushed me to grow fast. Together we even planned to launch DevHeaven Apps, a small startup built around Abner and other projects. That startup never took off, but the friendship and the code it produced shaped everything that came after.
Abner was verified by Discord just 2 months after launch — a sign of credibility and quality that very few bots earn that quickly. The bot kept growing, reaching over 1,000 servers and nearly 1 million active users at its peak. People genuinely loved it.
On November 7th, 2024, Abner was officially discontinued after a gradual decline in motivation and a shift in direction toward new, more meaningful projects. It wasn't an easy decision — but it was the right one. Abner lives on in its official server, now quiet, as a monument to where it all began.
If you want to look back on the journey, the official server is still accessible: discord.gg/SuH88c8bUQ.
What Abner became over 2 years
From a bot built out of curiosity to nearly 1 million users
The first version of Abner launches, built with Bot Designer for Discord. Just a personal experiment — no plans for what it would become.
Just 2 months after launch, Abner gets verified by Discord — a milestone that marks it as a serious, legitimate bot and opens the door to much larger growth.
The bot is completely rebuilt from scratch using Discord.js. This is where real development begins — no guides, just code, mistakes, and fast learning alongside Gabriel.
Abner reaches its peak — 1,000 Discord servers and nearly 1 million active users across all communities. Crazy, unexpected, and unforgettable.
Abner is officially discontinued. The journey ends — but the lessons, the scale, and the memories remain. What comes next is shaped entirely by what Abner taught.

Abner wasn't just a bot. It was the project that taught me what real development feels like — shipping something that people actually use, watching it grow past what you thought was possible, dealing with bugs at scale, and learning to keep going when motivation fades.
Every project I've built since then — Com Ele, PLVictor Accounts, Alef AI — carries something from Abner. The mindset, the drive, the refusal to stop at "good enough." It will always be the project that made everything else possible.
Abner is retired, but it lives on. The official server is still open as a monument to the journey: join here.
